February reminders
In today’s economy, many homeowners are looking for ways to reduce spending. One way to do so is by reviewing their homeowner’s insurance policy. Raising the deductible from $500 to $1,000, reducing coverage on the “household contents” portion of the policy, and installing home security devices could save as much as 25 percent every month on premiums, according to the Insurance Information Institute.

...next (this) week and at least 7 feet of new snow in the high Sierra through Wednesday, with more coming later in the week. National Weather Service forecasters say the storms could rival in intensity the deluge that hit in January and February of 1998. What happens to all the latex paint that is dropped off at hazard waste centers? It’s recycled and is being resold at your local paint distributors, Dunn-Edwards and Kelly-Moore, for instance. Recycled paint sells for less, but the quality and viscosity is augmented by blending it with virgin materials.
